Marry Me Chicken Orzo

Creamy, comforting orzo cooked in a rich tomato cream sauce with tender seasoned chicken and finished with parmesan and fresh herbs.

Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken thighs
  • 250 g orzo pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 750 ml chicken broth
  • 250 ml heavy cream
  • 60 g parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken until golden on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add garlic and tomato paste to the same pan and cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the orzo and chicken broth, then return the chicken to the pan.
  5. Simmer until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  6. Pour in the cream and add the parmesan cheese, stirring gently until creamy.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Stir the orzo frequently to prevent sticking.
  • Add extra broth if the sauce thickens too much.
  • Let the dish rest a few minutes before serving for best texture.
