Korean Beef Bulgogi Bowl

A comforting and flavorful Korean Beef Bulgogi Bowl filled with tender caramelized beef, warm rice, crisp vegetables, and tangy kimchi.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef flank or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup thinly sliced cucumber
  • 1 cup kimchi
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Warm your skillet or wok over medium high heat.
  2. In a bowl combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar. Add the beef and coat well.
  3. Lightly oil the heated pan to prepare for cooking.
  4. Arrange warm rice in serving bowls and place carrots, cucumbers, and kimchi around the edges.
  5. Add marinated beef to the pan and cook for 4 to 6 minutes until caramelized.
  6. Top bowls with cooked beef, then sprinkle green onions and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve immediately while the beef is hot and vegetables are crisp.

Notes

  • Chill beef slightly before slicing for thinner pieces.
  • Add more sugar if you like a sweeter bulgogi flavor.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure browning.
