Hot Chocolate Brownies

Rich and fudgy hot chocolate brownies with a crackly top and deep cocoa flavor, cozy, comforting, and perfect for any chocolate lover

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter, 170 g
  • Granulated sugar, 200 g
  • Brown sugar, 100 g
  • Eggs, 2 large
  • Vanilla extract, 1 tsp
  • All-purpose flour, 95 g
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, 65 g
  • Salt, 0.5 tsp
  • Baking powder, 0.5 tsp
  • Dark chocolate chips, 120 g

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 C and line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and whisk it with granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until glossy.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder, then gently fold until combined.
  5. Stir in dark chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
  8. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to keep the brownies fudgy.
  • Let brownies cool fully before slicing for clean edges.
  • Add mini marshmallows in the last 5 minutes for a hot chocolate twist.
