Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Boneless Chicken Thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Cornstarch
  • ½ cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable Oil, for frying
  • ½ cup Honey
  • ⅓ cup Sriracha Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • 2 Green Onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and garlic powder. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
  3. Line a tray with paper towels and place a wire rack on top for draining the fried chicken.
  4. Dip chicken pieces into the egg mixture, then coat in the flour-cornstarch mixture. Shake off excess.
  5. Fry chicken in batches for 5 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy. Let drain on the rack.
  6. In a small saucepan, whisk together honey, sriracha, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Heat over low until warm and smooth. Toss chicken in sauce until coated.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately while hot and sticky.

Notes

  • Double fry for extra crispy texture.
  • Warm the sauce before tossing for better coating.
  • Don’t overcrowd the frying pan.
  • Garnish just before serving for best appearance.
