Creamy Paprika Chicken

Creamy Paprika Chicken

Creamy Paprika Chicken is a rich, one-skillet comfort dish featuring tender seared chicken simmered in a velvety paprika-spiced cream sauce with bell peppers and garlic.

Ingredients

  • 4–6 boneless chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté garlic, onion, and bell pepper until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add paprika and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  5. Deglaze the pan with chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits.
  6. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes until sauce thickens and chicken is fully cooked.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and stir gently to combine.
  9. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

  • Use smoked paprika for deeper flavor.
  • Add mushrooms or spinach for extra veggies.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute with coconut cream.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3 days or frozen up to 2 months.
