Christmas Tree Cupcakes

Festive chocolate cupcakes topped with fluffy green frosting swirled like Christmas trees and decorated with colorful candy ornaments and star toppers, perfect for holiday parties and family baking days.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • Green food coloring, as needed
  • 1/2 cup candy decorations
  • Star toppers, as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two thirds full.
  6. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow cupcakes to cool completely.
  8. Beat butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, then add green food coloring.
  9. Pipe the frosting onto cooled cupcakes in a swirl to resemble Christmas trees.
  10. Decorate with candy ornaments and finish with star toppers before serving.

Notes

  • Let cupcakes cool fully before frosting to prevent melting.
  • Chill frosting slightly if it feels too soft for piping.
  • Decorate just before serving for the freshest look.
