Christmas Crack (Saltine Toffee)

A sweet and salty holiday candy made with crisp crackers, rich buttery toffee, smooth melted chocolate, and festive sprinkles. Easy to make, totally addictive, and perfect for gifting or sharing.

Ingredients

  • 40 saltine crackers (about 1 sleeve)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
  • 1/3 cup holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single, even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring until smooth.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it cook for about 3 minutes without stirring.
  5. Carefully pour the hot toffee evenly over the crackers.
  6. Bake for 5 minutes, until the toffee is bubbling.
  7. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.
  8. Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes until melted, then spread evenly.
  9. Sprinkle with holiday sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft.
  10. Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • Let the candy cool fully before breaking for the cleanest pieces.
  • You can refrigerate briefly to help the chocolate set faster.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep it crisp.
