Apple Crisp

A warm and comforting Apple Crisp made with tender baked apples and a buttery oat topping, perfect for cozy evenings and easy entertaining.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced (about 900 g)
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 120 g brown sugar
  • 60 g all-purpose flour
  • 90 g rolled oats
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 120 g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C and lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and 30 g of the flour. Mix well.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, mix rolled oats, brown sugar, remaining flour, and melted butter until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbling.
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for best flavor.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven to keep the topping crisp.
